the shell shaped leaves of the coast live oak, &lt;i&gt;quercus agrifolia&lt;/i&gt; if i'm not mistaken, do indeed have toothy edges (called dentate margins in the plant identification business) that can be quite painful if stepped on when they're dry.</description>
