I love that Mary Gauthier song, first on its own merits, and second because it was written here in Nova Scotia, when Gauthier was performing at the Stan Rogers Folk Fest. And while in the past I may have mocked fellow Nova Scotians who pretend Sarah McLaughlin is in any way shape or form Bluenose, being able to claim a little local connection for Mercy Now makes me break my own rules.

I was out chopping firewood a couple days ago - a glorious winter afternoon up here on the Puget Sound, and Jennifer Knapp's live album was playing on the Ipod. I think I hit repeat on A Little More a couple of times. Good music by a good lady. I had the chance to spend 45 minutes with her in Oregon once upon a time and was impressed by her huge heart.
