But her music (mostly) isn't rock'n'roll in a narrow sense of the term. Juanes *is* a rock star - one day I had my iPod go through his music on my commute, and I kept thinking "that sounds kind of like..." for various rock artists whose music I love. (That's not to take anything away from Shakira's accomplishments - pop is not a lesser form than rock, but they're not really the same thing.)
